Thief Steals Computer - Takes Pic - Auto Uploads To Flickr

This just in -

'Last week a number of computers were stolen from our office in Vancouver, BC. One of those computers was a shared iMac with Flickrbooth, an app that automatically uploads photo booth shots to our flickr account, installed on it. Just this morning a friend called to tell us that there are photos of whoever has the computer now in our flickr stream! Obviously the guy didn’t know he was uploading images of himself and his awesome tattoos.'

Not much to say is there...lmfao

Be sure to visit the comments on the flickr page

If you know this guy - just let either me or the BB team know...lol
Update 28/09/07 - the guy in the photo has handed himself into police and has said that he bought the pc from a friend who bought it from a friend. So far he has not been charged but investigations are ongoing and local police say that he is 'known to them'. The Flickr pics have had almost 300,000 views and god knows how many more on numerous blogs. Any more news - I'll let you know.

Feeling Icky

No bloggy stuff today - feeling really rubbishy.
I'm gonna stay in bed.

But I did find this.

I do know of some pirate Manga though.

It Finally Be Here

Har, me hearties. The hour has finally come. We be speakin like a pirate this day an any landlubbin soul who be found not talking pirate shall be hung from the mainbrace an afterwards shall surely be keelhauled.

There be rum an saltbiscuits enough for all the crew and entertainment aplenty as we gather up the wenches and make em walk the plank.

I be hopin that on this most fine and special day that ye all will be havin your parlez in a rich, rounded privateer manner.

So, without wastin any more of me valuable time, I pay tribute to all ye pirate souls out yonder with a marvellous, nay, wonderful vision of 'Mr Dantes' Skypirate costume.

The Return Of The 'Cheese Pirate'!

Oh happiness of happiness! Joy of insatiable joys!
I first posted this little film on August 7th.
It stayed up for a few days until the copyright spiders finally descended and swept it off the face of the internet.
Well I've finally found another working embed and hopefully this one will stay firmly planted.
So once again , and in honour of 'Talk like a pirate day' tomorrow - may I introduce the more than welcome return of
A GENTLEMANS DUEL.

Prepare To Be Boarded!

It's 'Talk like a pirate day' on the 19th of September.

I, myself, will be going the whole hog and dressing up in my best frilly cuffed shirt and eye patch just to remind myself that I should be talking like my Cornish relatives all day (although two of the greatest pirates were Welsh. Blackbeard and Morgan.)

So me hearties, I shall be expecting ye all to swear yeselves to the code - well - at least for the day..Har har!!

Transformer Phone

Transformers being one of my favourite things I couldn't resist putting these pics up.
Made from a Motorola E6 in 6 weeks and if some reports are to be believed - it still works as a phone!

I haven't been able to find the name of the guy who made this - but whoever you are - I love you!

Friday Night Top Of The Pops

It's yet another Friday night so here's another three musical interludes for your aural appreciation and your visual validity.
First up tonight Are The Boomtown Rats with I don't like Mondays.
Secondly in tribute to the 30th anniversary of his death this Sunday, it's the great Marc Bolan with T Rex singing Children of the Revolution.
Last - but never least - the legendary Jaques Brel with Le Moribond (later released by Terry Jacks as Seasons in the Sun).

A Video Response...

The ultimate video reponse by Seth Green to the now infamous Chris Crocker rant over Britney Spears.
(Oh - and don't forget - watch Robot Chicken!)
If you still haven't seen the original - dude! Where have you been?!

Daily Overload Of Cuteness

This little 12 week old Macaque was rescued in Goangdong Province in China after being abandoned by its mother. Despite being nursed back to physical health the little tyke was still depressed with no appetite for life, until a fellow patient, a white pidgeon, took him under her wing.
The two are now inseparable.
All together now - Ahhhhh...

Led Zeppelin - Ultimate Legends

Today, alongside 20 million others, I registered for the tickets to the Zeppelin reunion.
Along with Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin forms the soundtrack to my childhood.
I was lucky enough to meet Robert Plant and no two ways about it - I was in the presence of a god. He talked for a while and I talked back but never ask me to remember what was said. It was akin to a vision of the Otherworld.
So until I find out if I'm one of the lucky ones (oh please all ye gods that can be arsed to listen, please, please, please let me get a ticket to this most mythical of musical opportunities!) here's a small tribute.

Hello Kitty Hell

I haven't known about this blog for long, but, as a Hello Kitty fan it was inevitable that I would stumble across it at some point.

It gives me a laugh every time I visit but this entry (click the link below) really made my day. Worth taking a peek evn if you don't like (or maybe especially if you don't like) the darling little japanese feline.

Preservation Of The Species

These two examples of mummified humans have turned up on the internet this week. The first is a man found in a mining tunnel in Western Iran in 1993. He's carbon dated at 1700 years old. He appears to be a high ranking gentleman and has a wound to his head but no-one knows who he is or how he got there.

The second is a young Inca girl found in 1999. She was 15 years old when she died.

Doggy Style..lol

I've resisted all compulsions to post this - up until now!
There's no getting away from it - this doggy is cute!

A Little Note

Just a little note to say - I've added an email feature to the posts - just click on the little white envelope at the bottom (by the comments) and you can send all of this Mangawitchy goodness to friends and family alike!

Final Fantasy Potion - Limited Edition

You all know by now (or should) that I'm a massive Final Fantasy fan (obsessive?) especially FFVII.

This year is the 10th anniversary of its release and to celebrate, Suntory has announced its going to release a limited edition (4.8 milion) canned version of the infamous potion (a carbonated drink that when first released earned the impressive review that 'it tasted like cancer!'. The cans are available for 191 Yen each and each of the 16 features a different character. (Don't worry - I already have a few Japanese contacts ready and waiting outside stores right now!)

This game took me months to play. Four to five hours a day running from town to town - from Sepiroth to the Turks - from Snowboarding at the Golden Saucer to hippying out at Cosmo Canyon. This is the game that lifted RPG's to the next level! This is where I fell in love with Vincent Valentine and where I learned that Japan has vending machines that sell used schoolgirl knickers!!

I've played all the Final Fantasy games now and this one is still the one I reach for when I feel like getting away from it all (hint for those in need of major stress relief - when you get to level 99 just go back to the Midgar Zolem and kick the shit out of HIM for a change...lol).

So Congrats FFVII for staying the course and may you kick around for another decade at least! And thanks for everything ... lol

Friday Night Top Of The Pops

Time for another smattering of sounds on this balmy September night.
Summers almost over and despite the fucked up climate the leaves are changing colour and the birdsong is subtley changing.
So sit back, relax and enjoy a few minutes of some classic 60's sounds.
For your listening pleasure tonight we have - The Rolling Stones with Paint it Black - The Turtles with Happy Together - and Lovin Spoonful with Daydream (Forgive me but John Sebastian is one of the most underrated icons of the decade).
Enjoy.
(God, It's good to be back!)

Burning Man - Art At Black Rock

I know the Burning Man festival was a while ago now but I'm still catching up on a fortnight of missed blogging opportunities.
This is just one of a selection from Wired.

A Little Nonsense Now And Zen

'Our schoolmaster used to take a nap every afternoon' related a disciple of Soyen Shaku. 'We children asked him why he did it and he told us - 'I go to dreamland to meet the old sages just as Confucious did.' When Confucious slept he would dream of ancient sages and later tell his followers about them.
It was extremely hot one day so some of us took a nap. Our schoolmaster scolded us. 'We went to dreamland to meet the old sages just as Confucious did.' we explained. 'And what was the message from those sages?' Our schoolmaster demanded.
One of us replied ' We went to dreamland and met the sages. We asked them if our schoolmaster came there every afternoon, but they said they had never heard of such a fellow'.

Couldn't Resist A Little Tribute To My Favourite Muppet.

Animal has always been my fave - no one else comes near (well, maybe the cat with the eye patch that used to sit on the little shelf at the top of the stairs.).
Three little videos showing him at his best!
Enjoy.
