12 Steps To Recovery For Internet Addicts

1.I will have a cup of coffee in the morning and READ my Paper newspaper, like I used to, before the web.
2.I will eat breakfast with a knife and fork and not one handed whilst typing
3.I will get dressed before noon
4.I will make an attempt to clean the house, wash clothes and plan dinner before even thinking of the web
5.I will sit down and write a letter to those unfortunate few friends and family that are web deprived
6.I will call someone on the phone who I cannot contact on the web
7.I will read a book....if I remember how
8.I will listen to those around me about their needs and stop telling them to turn down the TV so I can hear music on the web
9.I will not be tempted during the ad break to check for email
10.I will try and get out of the house at least once a week if it is necessary or not
11.I will remember that the bank is not forgiving if I forget to balance my cheque book because I was too busy on the web
12.Last, but not least....I will remember that I must go to bed sometime...and the web will always be there tomorrow did I do....

...hmmm - well tomorrow's another day

Another Bank Holiday

Well the Great British Bank Holiday doesn't get much better than this!
It's raining, there are storm force winds and, if you can be bothered to get in your car to go anywhere - it'll cost you an arm and a leg to fill the tank!
So here's a few jokes I found about petrol prices....maybe they'll add a bit of sunshine to this lovely day

Announcing The Telectroscope!!!

I was feeling whistfully steampunk after my last post so you can imagine my absolute delight when I came across this story on the BBC.
The picture above is one end of a 'tunnel' from Brooklyn Bridge in New York to Tower Bridge in London and it's called a 'Telectroscope'!
As Londoners on the banks of the Thames looked down the tunnel they could see a group of New Yorkers looking back at them and waving. Messages were passed using white-boards and Manchester United were told that they 'suck'!
The inventor of the Telectroscope tells us that it works by utilising a tunnel in the Earths crust and mirrors.....but is more likely to be fibre optics and a good imagination.
But do I care!!??
Look at it!!!!
Isn't it beautiful!

On The Subject Of Guns

I was thinking that there must be better things to do with guns than shoot people.....and there are -
You can take pictures with them...

You can play music on them.......

You can give them to Geiger to re-design.......

You can keep your condoms in them.......

You can turn them into replica ray-guns......

See - guns can be cool.....

Free Gun With Every Car!

Missouri car Dealership Max Motors has quadrupled its sales by offering a free gun with every car purchased.

Shed Of The Year

A Welsh View have a lovely little link to an article on about the Shed of the Year competition...

Personally I think a shed should be something sacroscant with cobwebs, old tools in old wooden boxes with a smell of paint fumes and freshly dug earth with an underlay of cut grass....

.....some of these people think differently...

A Universe Smaller Than A Marble

Scientists at Lancaster University have created a Universe (or something very much like it).

It lies at the bottom of a chamber no bigger than your little finger, filled with helium and cooled to 0.0003 degrees Fahrenheit above absolute zero.

'By placing helium in a state which most closely resembles the form it held at the beginning of the universe, scientists have created an opportunity for the gas to go through several low-energy evolutions. These defects in space-time, are represented by tiny whirlpools in the helium, which are created by the rapid expansion, and equally rapid slowing of the expansion; something that it’s believed our own universe did at the big bang and in the moments thereafter.'
